Much better day today, first we headed along Coast Road to the beach at the Isle of Whaley, flippin windy and a bit cold so we didn't stay long. We stopped at a few places along the way, including Roa Island which is a real throw back in time place...
Drove back through Grizedale Forest where we stopped for a walk through the woods, found a little river so we had a bit of a paddle and messed about in the white water.
Found a really rural ramshackled farm where we bought a dozen free range eggs for £2. Great value and made for a great breakie the following morning...
In the evening we went for a 3 hour walk which ended near Ambleside and another photo opportunity. Although not exactly what I wanted, I like the silhouette of the boys against the evening sky here.
After my grumpyness yesterday, the hubby of the other family we were with was in a strop today and decided they were calling an early end to their holiday and leaving a day early, leaving the kids with us. (Truth was, his 'guru' had some religous thing the next day which he would rather be at then on holiday with his family....!!!)
My girlfriend agrued with him calling him selfish! I agree.
