Took this photo as I was testing the set up on my camera at a jobs fair we were holding at work today..
Although it's not the sharpest of pics, I like how this one turned out. Bit of a lucky accident as I was only checking shutter speeds in preperation for an indoor shoot....
This young lady is Mahmouda, a volunteer who has just joined us and is working for a few months to gain some experience for her CV.. Like so many others in their early 20s, she's a graduate who upon leaving Uni, is finding it extremely hard to break into the job market.
I've called this Babooshka as I keep signing "Mahmouda, Mahmouda..." in a Kate Bush stylie to myself.... (just to remember how to pronounce her name....)
A Kate Bush stylie....lol....lots of hair and arm waving then! hehe Love the 'accident' lighting here. Hope you showed her this, she would be well pleased. Don't let Sangeeta see this :-)
Its shameful that government pushed and pushed a-level students in to uni in the past 5 years, even so when I went in 2001 and graduated in 2004 the market was saturated with graduates, the ratio was like 10 grads to every 1 grad job, now its like 100 grads to every graduate job available. Just my 2 pence worth
@Cherrill ha ha Cherrill.. she's young enough to be my daughter :-)... oh and when I showed her the pic, she said what many of the Asian woman I work with says "Ooo I look so dark - can't you make me lighter"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @ellida haha... had forgotten it meant grandmother...
@azza_l yeah too right... amazes me the number of graduates that apply whenever we have a vacancy... No uni for me tho :-(.. missed out on 4 years of partying....
@ellida haha... had forgotten it meant grandmother...
@artistmichelle I hoped she would have been, but see my comments to Cherrill above - she complained she was too dark!!!!
