Two doors down from here is the Fish Bazar.. Full of strange and really quite large Asian fish.. From experience, I can tell you Bengali's seem to prefer fresh water fish and whilst it's ok, it can be really boney..
I was sure bazar is spelt wrong so checked it out and it seems this spelling and bazaar are commonly used in Asian.
I don´t like to see meat like these. Yuk !
We used to see scenes like these everywhere here in São Paulo, but now it is no so common. I like to see the meat packed, and really clean, barely seeming to be meat... :)
In northeastern Brazil is horrible to see how meat is sold on the streets.
fab - i've just finished having a conversation about some time I spent in an abbatoir recently - and now i'm going to be working in a couple of bacon factories, I get the joy of this every day. It is important to appreciate where one's food comes from!
@azza_l yeah, this is the place, you can also see the shopping trolly inside the shop they use to move the meat if the lorry parks around the corner. @sparkle there use to be an abbatoir near to were I grew up, went in there a couple of times, horrible place and such a stink..
Great shot, I don't think I have ever seen meat delivered in this fashion in the US. We really do cover everything with plastic over here - it needs to stop.
@shantwin thanks shannon, this is a muslim butcher where meat is always sold 'open' like the traditional butchers do.. although on saying that, the traditional buctcher is making a come back... It's just delivereies usually aren't made like thisin mainstream shops... :-)
@robinwarner : Know what you mean... I've gone veggie many years ago. Love animals way too to much to eat them.
