Mud Larks by andycoleborn

Mud Larks

Drove down to Leigh-on-Sea this afternoon to get my fill of fresh seafood and take in a bit of sun...

I do lke Leigh... it's still a working fishing village and has plenty of shacks selling all sorts of fish plus a wide varierty of shellfish.. I scoffed a half pint of cockles and took home some crayfish, dressed crab and huge tiger prawns at just £1 each!!!

When the tide's out the estaury isn't the most attractive.. but some people stll enjoed the mud...

We do not have a tide in Malta...it never ceased to fascinate me during my stay in the the UK! Great capture!

What an unusual view - looks as if the sea has just disappeared!

there's a lovely sense of happiness in this shot... the light perhaps? and the carefree stance of the two figures trouncing thru the mud :)

@jpgiorgio really!! 'm sure I was in St George's Bay (I think that's what it was called - south coast) and the tide was out - was 20+ years back so prob mistaken...

@cazink Hmmm yeah - rather you than me... I saw the kids come out after playing in the mud and it wasn't a good look haha

It reminds me of when I was a child in Vancouver, Canada. My brother and I would play on the beach FOREVER!
