Synchronised pass

There's a bit of a tale attached to this one and I'm glad to have it loaded safely onto the site.

The last few weeks, these pheasants have been everywhere and I'm sure I've been rather dangerous in my drive to and from work (sorry Mum- just don't read that bit) as I've had to look sideways into every field to see when one of them was near enough to photograph. In addition, when I have stopped, the point and shoot I carry around with me has really not been up to the task.

As a consequence, I decided today was the day and dashed home from work to grab my decent camera with long lens and the dog (I'll leave it as a little quiz for you all to decide which was useful and which was distinctly less so!) and headed back on my work route to find one of the little tinkers. There were a few false starts (they do tend to dart rather rapidly and comically in the other direction as soon as they see a long thing pointing at them... I can rather see their point...) but then I came across this field with 2 pheasants and, bless 'em, they decided to even do a bit of interaction for me.

Finally! And I can now restore safety to the British roads! For that, if nothing else, I'm sure my 365 friends will rejoice with me!
Fab shot - almost like a mirrored reflection! Well caught :)

Well done you, beautifully captured, such fabulous colouring The one on the right looks like its poor little legs can barely support it's own body weight!

@marybethosullivan They are indeed wild but are in large numbers in our area at this time of year. They just aren't often close by as they really don't seem too keen on we humans. As soon as you start towards them ,they tend to leg it in the oppositie direction!

@jo13 Thanks, Jo. The one on the right does seem a little weight-ily challenged!

I think it's a great capture and I can certainly see why you were hoping for one. Love the detail in their feathers and the wonderful red on their faces!

@wenbow Thanks, Wendy! You seemed to have quite a littel gallop through my past shots last night- I really appreciate the time and the wealth of comments. I've been enjoying your album too!
