The reds

The Royal International Air Tattoo at Fairford is one of the largest in the world and the Red Arrows do a magnificent display. I took lots of photos of all the fantastic manoeuvres but this image really struck me as different to lots I'd taken before.
Fantastic shot. I have seen the Red Arrows many times during our RAF days and never tire of watching them.
We got to meet the pilots once in the Officers Mess when we lived in Cyprus. They used to come out there for a few weeks to practice their display for the season.

@onewing I think they still practise in Cyprus. A friend of ours lives in Lincoln on the East Coast of the UK and sees them weekly in the skies there rehearsing their display. I too can't see them often enough as they're so skilled. As part of the University Air Squadron a couple of years ago, my son was jobbed with taking the Red Arrows' wives for afternoon tea while the team displayed, A tough job but somebody had to do it!
