In a pinch

This is one of several Clivia Miniata plants that I got many many years ago from my Grandmother… She's passed now and when I look at them, it always makes me feel warm inside… she and my Grandfather meant a lot to me growing up since I spent a good part of my childhood living with them.

I love it when the Clivia Miniatas blossom, but every once and a while the flower "sort of forgets" to grow a stem and the flowers end up being pinched between the leaves... I suspect that it might be because I don't give them enough water - but I'm not sure... In a pinch or not... the flowers still look beautiful and makes me feel warm inside rememebering my Grandmother.

I've never seen a miniature, I grow the ordinary orange ones in my garden, they flower when the amaryllis worm doesn't devour them.
