Bandage socks by atchoo

Bandage socks

Spent my Sunday afternoon cutting and sewing 65 socks out of my cotton jersey fabric remnants to be donated to our local vet. The socks will be used as protective covers for bandages on animals legs (cats and dogs). The inspiration for these came when our female Turkish Van cat, Sil, had surgery to her right hine leg in February 2017. After the surgery she had to wear bandages for 6 weeks and to keep her from soiling the bandage (especially when visiting the litter box) I made similar socks from remnants of jersey fabrics to cover her bandage, and it worked very well. Since I sew a lot I also generate a lot of fabric remnants and instead of throwing them away I asked our vet if they would be interested in me making some bandage socks for them (as a donation) and they happily accepted, so I made a bunch of socks for them back in February... I still generate a lot of fabric remnants so I thought it was time to make them a second batch :-).
