Ansty Maypole - 01-5

Rubbish photo but its a Maypole the inset plate is on the pole. If anyone know how to photograph poles please let me know.

@khirsch thanks. Yes I wonder if that would be better. There were people there so I was a bit shy. There is a function this evening when they actually dance around it. Shame I couldn't go as that would be better to photograph.

@barrowlane No need to be shy. Would have been nice to go to the dance. Here we have dances on April 30th "Dance into May"., since May 1st is a holiday. I went last night and had great fun, took some shots there but didn't use them

Haven't done it, but would suggest down real low at the base looking up along it's length, if you see what I mean! Probably have to lie on your back!

@snaggy. I see you want me to get run over. Trouble is there were people watching me. One woman thanked me for turning up to help. I think if I were to lay down on my back under the pole I may have been burnt on stake tonight. Maybe tomorrow.

@barrowlane i find if I ask Poles politely they're usually fine with me photographing them, same goes for Russians, Ukrainians and Bulgarians
