I wonder - 31-08

I spotted this ladybird on some grasses in the field it seem to be eating something and I wondered if anyone new what it might have been doing. It was there all day.

Great macro. It looks hand painted and varnished. I have no idea what it was doing but it looks a bit like a cocoon but then it's not a caterpillar .

@barrowlane yes, I joined twitter a couple of months ago after realising it was good for keeping up to date with local things and for wildlife related stuff. Just logged in and saw your ladybird, retweeted by identify wildlife.

Glad you got an answer about the ladybird. I thought it was odd that it didn't move all day, can't believe I didn't think about parasites! I have learned something from your photo (and twitter) :)
