8 is enough. by bcurrie

8 is enough.

eight miles, that is. ran my 8 mile training run this evening, and that'll be all, thank you.

*yes. yes, i still have pumpkins in january. don't judge.

Go girl! Are you doing the okc half?

Congrats. How did the 8 miles fo? I miss all that action. When I was in college I ran and played tennis. After college, I did karate, golfing, tennis, ran, but then my knees and back began giving out. Had to give it all up. I miss it all.

@srigdon nope. besides the stupid-ridiculous FOUR upcoming local runs i've signed up for (10k, 8k, 5k, and frigid 5) i'm doing the austin half feb 20. i'm not sure if i realize i'm not a runner...
January 5th, 2011
@digitalrn it was not pretty. i've played tennis from the time i was around 10--i haven't played in a while though! i'm sure you do miss all those activities.

I've registered for a half marathon in March (in Carey, NC, the Tobacco Road race), so I need to work my way back up. I envy your 8 miles at this point! Nice way to display the number!

You are awesome! What a creative picture!

I just got rid of my pumpkins! And I'm also jealous of your 8 miles. I am supposed to be running a 10k in April, not that I'll be anywhere near ready for it!

Very creative use of your lovely pumpkins!
Good for you on the 8 miles! I ran 2 yesterday...and wimped out today. Sigh. My cousin is dong the Austin full-trying to quality for Boston.
I'm planning on doing the OKC Half again this year. We'll see.
Oh, and I'm not a runner, but I do manage to trudge along slowly. :)
January 5th, 2011
congrats for running that far!! great picture and its okay to still have pumpkins :)
January 5th, 2011
@jjsooner i'm preparing for the austin half as well! not, i repeat, NOT trying to qualify for boston.

January 5th, 2011
Haha--well, congrats on the miles and pumpkins are always cool! We still have our little mini pumpkins from Halloween on our table.
January 5th, 2011
Brett, I'm not anywhere near ready to do any organized runs, though maybe registering for something is what I need to whip me into gear.
January 5th, 2011
@jjsooner it's the only thing that forces me to run! i have to have that 'pressure' to motivate me.
January 5th, 2011
WOW! 8 miles is a lot! Good for you, Brett! :-)
