tonight we took some time to write out lots of special verses on all the exposed doorposts and stairs before they are covered over in the renovation, as a way of living out deuteronomy 6:4-9 'to write His Word on the doorposts of our home'. the young one is writing out revelation 3:20, the eldest is writing our family motto 'walk worthy' from colossians 1:9-12, and i wrote joshua 24:15. i'm praying that more than ever before, our home would be a sanctuary set apart for God and for His purpose.
One year when I was growing up, my parents renovated the bathroom I shared with my brothers. We wrote all over the wall, marked our heights, etc. Each time my mom would change the wallpaper on that wall, we would add more to it. To this day, she will never paint, only re-wallpaper that wall because she doesn't want to lose what was written there. It's completely covered, floor to ceiling, with our scribbling.

Very cool! A friend of mine is building a home and when I went to see it a few weeks ago, she too had scripture on nearly every 2x4! Of course I had my camera in tow :)
