we spent the day at black canyon of the gunnison national park--it is an amazing place. the gunnison river cuts right through the canyon, and in some places the gorge is over 2700 feet deep.
*while i didn't take the top left shot, i love how it looks like we are hanging off the edge of the canyon! be assured, we were not ;)
*the middle left is a shot of my young one 'preaching' at pulpit rock
*the bottom is the eldest trying to scare me to death, while also sweetly allowing me to take a photo
*the large photo is the beautiful black canyon and the gunnison river. you can also see a portion of painted rock on the right.
Beautiful. I think that's the same river I've hiked to for a boat ride several times, the last one in 1997. I remember it was near Gunnison and just beautiful.
