what my youngest said after the following exchange: i came running around the corner wondering what the huge 'thump, thump, crash, CRASH' that i had just heard was, and saw him holding a lamp to keep it from falling, crouched in a laundry basket, with shattered glass all around. i surveyed the damage, and suddenly it clicked. "DID YOU JUST RIDE DOWN THE STAIRS IN THAT LAUNDRY BASKET??!!!" i calmly asked. and he replied, through tears and a terrified look on his face, with the above.
we were just glad he didn't get really hurt (look at that glass!) and then when we knew he was safe and that he wouldn't do it again, we cracked up!!
