my boy in his cyclocross race yesterday, going over one of the obstacles. while he is pretty confident in all the disciplines of road racing, learning how to race a cyclocross event has been challenging. it would have been very easy for him at the beginning of the season to give up and decide that cyclocross just 'wasn't for him', but he didn't quit. he kept training and entering races, slowly getting better. yesterday was the last race of the season--the state championships--and he finished in 2nd place! he has shown a lot of perseverance and determination; we are really proud of him!
