...and this is the 'after' shot.
in yesterday's race, my boy was in position to finish in the top 10-15 as they rounded the very last turn coming home. the guy in front of him lost his tire, and when he went down my boy couldn't avoid hitting him (they were going close to 30mph!) and literally snapping the other rider's bike in half. when his daddy saw what had happened, my boy was still laying on the ground, unable to catch his breath and missing a good deal of skin. he had to ride off the course in a medic cart (a first!) and get bandaged up. he was hurting, but otherwise okay (thankfully!) he even raced on sunday, but his body was just not ready to get back out there and they ended up skipping monday's race and coming home early. not happy about the outcome for him, but happy to have him home!
Hope he doesn't suffer too much and is back on the bike again soon.
