look...

...but don't touch!
this delicate china cup has been in my family for some time, and i've always thought it was so beautiful, especially because when turned upside-down it's shaped like a crown. it has a slightly mysterious origin, and growing up i was NOT allowed to touch it. judging from the chips, i wasn't terribly obedient.
Very delicate looking, and love the gold trim.

What a gorgeous piece, Brett, and how nice that it has family history. While I suppose you don't use this one, I love using a variety of old cups, often hand painted, to enjoy my coffee. They certainly have a charm and history you won't find in a present-day store!

Brett! How exciting to get your news! Were you part of the Kappa circle of Joanne's that joined 365 together? This really puts a smile on my face! And did you know Heather (and Ashley) are Kappas also... What fun! I'm delighted to find another sister here!

This is so fitting beneath your beautiful "blue & blue" cup :-) I was a Gamma Iota at Washington Uni (St Louis) and both my girls went to the U of A in Tucson. I also found "a roundabout" connection with Ellen E...her mother was a Wash U Kappa also. She'd seen the note when Joanne emailed me and contacted me, too! (Joanne had seen my photo in the most recent Key...alums section...with two Kappa friends who'd visited me here in Nova Scotia last fall.) (Two more Kappa friends are coming up before we leave this summer...I'm likely to have pix of them when that rolls around!) So when you wrote, "you 'were' a Kappa", I'd have to say I'm still pretty involved!
