from the christian heritage academy website, the 'crusader athletic philosophy':
~success is measured by giving your best effort
~good character is the goal, which demands integrity and respect for the rules of the game
~an attitude and effort that are pleasing to God are the most treasured rewards
~it's 'we not me'; teamwork over individualism
~success comes from God's gifts and the help of others
~if we lose, let it be without complaint or blame
~we treat all authorities with respect, no matter what
~we win with humility and lose with dignity
~do unto others as you'd have them do unto you; love your neighbor as yourself
~dignity comes from how you play the game, exemplifying sportsmanship
~we play as if Christ is our only audience
~we only cheer for our teams and do not cheer against our opponents
~we give all of our energy and emotion until the end
~players approach the game in humility and teachability, always learning
this group of young men are really learning how to be 'true crusaders' as they learn from their incredible coaches. so proud of them!
*when i took this photo of the pre-game prayer i thought my son (#33) was leading the team in prayer--but after the game he told me he was just standing up because his knee was still hurting!! ha!!
