me with my pal angie, 'in the pink' for breast cancer awareness month. she is one of my dearest friends, and a complete inspiration. several years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. i was devastated for her and her family--besides the friendship she and i share, our husbands and children are all also very close. they attacked this awful disease head-on, and it was a painful journey for all of them. but angie never stopped smiling. even when she lost her hair, and felt sick as a dog, she always radiated with the joy of the Lord. she suffered through several surgeries also, and i tried to encourage her, but she always turned out to be the one to encourage me! i love her and her family, and i am so very thankful that today she is cancer-free. and in the pink.
*the phrase 'in the pink' means in perfect condition, especially as pertains to health. praise the Lord!
This is a splendid photo of you and your friend. Your photo in pink is a beautiful tribute to her courage and to God's mercy towards her.
Love your smiles -- which are radiant not only on your lips but also in your eyes.
Oh Brett ... what a beautiful and touching tribute to your precious friend. My best friend has ALS and she is the one who ends up being the encourager to me, always radiating the love of the Lord and the special peace He has given her. I'm so thankful Angie is now "in the pink", in perfect condition. This is a beautiful photo of the two of you.
this is fabulous! you are a beautiful support for each other. a fav for me!
i had an aunt who was like your friend - made you feel better and encouraged when she was the one ill. my aunt Jo became a quadriplegic from a congenital problem. she never complained; was always happy to see everyone; was put into a nursing home at 50ish, had to deal with senile patients getting in bed with her when they lost their way & she couldn't move to press a call button; converted atheists to christianity not by preaching, but by her amazing faith and love of God; no matter what she praised His name and did i mention that no one in the family EVER heard her complain in all the years she lived like that. she was a shining example for me and i miss her dearly.
This is just so perfectly composed. I really am amazed at your beauty and love for so many people. I admire that in you....as you are just so accepting.
@pinktornado39 i was also thinking of you when i posted this. i love how you've shared so much of yourself here on 365. and i'm thankful that you are 'in the pink' as well. thank you for sharing the testimony of your aunt with me. what a beautiful example of suffering well.
@mrssmith thank you so much carla. your words mean a lot to me; i know these are such difficult times for you right now, and i really appreciate your encouragement.
Love your smiles -- which are radiant not only on your lips but also in your eyes.
