Yes, looks like a Spotted Bowerbird, although I've never seen one. They're uncommon, so you're lucky to have spotted and photographed this. Beautiful bird and lovely shot, too.
So glad I saw this (I'm barely on 365 these days). Very nice catch, Sheralee. I'm looking to buy a lens in this range. If you have time, please post more shots and let me know how you like the lens.
@russianblue Thanks Kass, nice to see you! I'm the same and am rarely here too. I've been trying to put in a bit of an effort. My camera is a Sony but I have friends that have the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 with the 7D and they love the lens. I've seen lots of shots from them and can say it would be well worth purchasing :)
@russianblue Oh yeah!! It's one hefty lens and that's one thing I need to get used to. This was taken at 1/500sec but I do have trouble controlling the shake when handholding. It's easier without the 2x converter on it.
@bobfoto This one (or a friend) is a regular and loves to steal our tiny tomatoes, takes three or four at a time. Well worth the price to see them here.
