I bought my tickets online but the line up was still sooo long. This shot is taken after we weaved our way along 2 and a half lines, just one more long line to go!
I've been to France twice, but never to Versailes. After my last trip I read a biography on Marie Antoinette and Louis Auguste. so NOW I really want to see their Palace! The history blows me away. Did you see her little palace in the back?
You are kidding me...?! And you bought your tickets online already?! Jeepers. We saw a line to the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona that went right around to the back of the cathedral, and folk told us they had been waiting over 3 hours.... (We went back very first thing the next day just before it opened and still waited over 40 mins!)
George is going to be away working for some of August, Cathy and I were thinking of going away somewhere together.. I suggested Versailles and Paris today after seeing your shot and she is really enthusiastic! She is enjoying learning French and is about to take part in a French debating contest (she can certainly argue in English..!) so is definitely up for a trip to beautiful Paris. We will buy our tickets online beforehand and arrive at dawn I think! Thanks for the warning :)
@filsie65 I'm sure you will enjoy it Phil, it was a hot day though so make sure you have water with you. I think the line took about two hours, for such a huge line it moved quite quickly. Maybe an hour before opening would work?
