Jabiru by bella_ss

Jabiru

Another shot from Fog Dam in Kakadu. I absolutely loved visiting Kakadu.
My hard drive has died along with things being really crazy in my house. I was lucky that all my photos are on external drives. Hope to catch up this weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by :)

Impressive bird! Great capture!
You make me think it's time to back up my pics :-0
June 13th, 2014
@scatcat Yes, I was lucky not to lose anything. The biggest pain was finding my Lightroom catalogue, I was lucky to have my system engineer son on hand to retrieve it from the corrupt disk.

@dide thanks Diane, after nearly losing them the last time my hard drive died I have been a little more careful but probably still not careful enough.

Fantastic shot, they are a very pretty bird. I glad that your photo's survived. It does pay to have backup.
June 13th, 2014
@karlow75 it sure does, I imagine any 365er would be devastated to lose their photos.

@lealady Thank you Leah and thanks for the follow :) The Jabiru is Australia's largest wading bird and only stork.
June 14th, 2014
@tomtom You really must go, it was even better than I expected.
June 14th, 2014
we're not meant to call 'em Jabirus anymore :( I still will but.
June 14th, 2014
@bobfoto Really?! I didn't know that, lol. That was the only name I heard used while there.
June 14th, 2014
@bella_ss - yeah they did a clean up of common names a few years back and these are officially known as Black Headed Storks (or something like that). The Jabiru is an Indian bird.
June 14th, 2014
@bobfoto thanks for that, Jabiru's a much nicer name :)
June 14th, 2014
@bella_ss - it is.
