Makes a wonderful image. I remembering doing similar as a kid on my parents' property. I know that fire is a natural part of the process for Australian flora and fauna ... but I'd never thought of the hawks before! And all the poor little animals!
Nice shot Sheralee, saw the smoke coming from behind the hill but i had other things to do to finish this august dash.Have a good trip but you wouldn,t want to be going too near the coast to the south by sounds of it.
@peterlgrave Thanks Peter, are you referring to the rain? If so, luckily we are going inland first and then to Brisbane so the rain should be gone by the time we get there... fingers crossed.
This is an instant fav Sheralee, fabulous composition. When they did the burn off here a couple of years ago, first time in about 25 years, they said they hadn't see many animals except for about 200 funnel web spiders on the move and I said as long as they weren't coming our way. I believe about 7 or 8 years ago there was a bad bush fire here.
@bella_ss We get the brown snakes too Sheralee and had one in the house in the middle of the night laying in the middle of the floor. The Firies said when God made Berowra, that's where I live, he tipped the whole bag of brown snakes in it. The Funnel Web is such a scary spider we have had one in the pool and I just had to run away from it. They can live underwater for about 3 days.
@tomtom Yes, there were a couple of hundred, once they see the smoke they starting moving in.
