Street Photography - my town

I don't think this really is what Jerry had in mind when street photography was the subject for today's One Night Stand, BUT... it is a street and I photographed it :) As you can see there weren't too many people wandering around for me to shoot. By the way, thank you so much for the great response to yesterday's reflection shot.

It's not too late to join in...

This looks just like some of the streets that you find in WA country towns...

something about the limited colors is very appealing about this

certainly a street! I like the moving flash in the centre.

Nice to see how your town looks like, and I like the huge boot.

Definitely a street scene. Not exactly rush hour though is it. Interesting shot, I love the large boot.

"Though people usually feature directly, street photography might be absent of people and can be of an object or environment where the image projects a decidedly human character in facsimile or aesthetic."

rest assured it is street photography. :-)

Haha! I'm trying to figure out how to do a 'street photography' shot today on the island, with our car in the shop and no chance to get in even to the tiny "town" - much less find people! I like your solution...now to figure out mine.

Looks like a very charming place to live, I love that tower -it´s like a tower in a fairytale castle

Wow, your street looks so exotic to me!

Charters Towers? I seem to note the old Bank of New South Wales building on the left frame. My Grandfather was manager here, and my dad Accountant at the time I lived and went to school here... The Manager's residence was on the top of the building, and I have a childhood memory from 60+ years ago of looking down from the top floor... Post Office then to the right? Fav for all the thoughts that this shot brings back...

@frankhymus Yes, you're right Frank, the Council now owns the old building on the left. For a while it was the library. The Bank of NSW (now Westpac) is across the street as you can see in this photo (built maybe 40 years ago). The Post Office is still in the same building as there was an uproar by residents when they suggested it was moved.

not many people, but some cool motion blur going on.

There are some lovely old buildings there. I'm with you, I was very tempted to post a street shot without people in it. But I had one that was workable so I used that.

This is my kind of street photography. I just happened to have someone march across the road in front of me as I took my photo for the ONS challenge.
