The barefoot part of this was taken in 2010 and was to depict my childhood... mostly spent barefoot by choice. My shoes would usually be in my school bag or left at home on purpose. We were free to roam as long as we were home at a decent time, well before dinner. The high heels have been added today (you can see my remote in my hand). The hardest part of this was the shadow under my feet.
Taken for 52 Portraits of Me - Week 10 Deception. Next week is "Imitate a Classic Painting"... arrgghhhh This week was hard enough :)
Awesome! I had much the same sort of childhood and hated wearing shoes. If I did this portrait, I would have to add a third figure, one wearing comfortable shoes as my heel wearing days are far behind me.
s, you have a set of perfectly shaped gams! i am quite jealous.
back in the old country, my parents were very poor and bought us shoes only at Christmas. but we were never allowed to go around barefoot, we wore slippers to school. but, yes, that freedom to walk around sans footwear especially when playing tag with the neighborhood children. these days, after i've cleaned and mopped the floor i'd walk around barefoot - nothing like the feel of clean floors!
@summerfield We were also quite poor, birthdays and Christmas were just one gift each and very often made by my parents. I don't think I was allowed to go barefoot I would leave the house with them on and take them off. I always go barefoot in my house, but not because the floors are always clean :)
Congratulations on the TT.
