@kali66 I don't think that anyone lived in these particular buildings. These adobe buildings are part of a church complex that the Jesuits built to try to convert the local native indians.

@kali66 I agree. The indians did try to revolt several times, but it was an ongoing suppression. In other news, local native americans are protesting copper mining right now: http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2015/02/forest_service_allows_protestors_to_continue_oak_flat_occupation.php
They never get a break.

Very intriguing, this type of buildings and the desert is so different than were I live (dark stones for houses, moss and wet).
