Last day in Germany, a flying visit only unfortunately. This is me with my friend's two daughters engrossed in a friendship book. The younger one got this for Christmas. The first question she asked me: "Barbara, will you write in my friendship book?" Well, of course! Hmmm, the girls are getting older. I remember the first question used to be "Will you draw a picture for me please?". We met up with my parents and one of my sisters for a couple of hours over lunch in one of our old haunts back home. As always it was too short, but we had a lovely couple of hours catching up and making plans for our next holiday together. Since I moved abroad we have discovered we have developed a natural routine of planning a holiday together every three years. I try to catch up with my friend, her husband and the two daughters every time I am back home. I love our travels together though and enjoy having some "family" time with them all and seeing the girls grow up. Luckily we all love the outdoors, Northern beaches, picnic spots with a view (and preferably not too many midges!), going for walks (well, the girls may at times disagree with that judgement ;-)), bridges, water, ferries...the list is endless! Now if only they would remember not to wear their sandals with socks so we don't stick out as the stereotypical Germans immediately ;-)
This picture was teamwork: my sister spotted the scene and asked my Dad to take a picture with my camera.
@woot I am very fortunate we have a firendship where it doesn't seem to matter if we haven't spoken in months or seen each other for ages. It is always great to reconnect!

We had such a lovely time and just seemed to get into a routine immediately! I've learned A LOT from my Dad about photography. He is an avid photographer and always shoots lovely portraits! My sister has a great eye for scenes too!
