Went back for a second helping of the birthday blaze in honour of the Theatre Royal's 175th birthday on Sunday night. Always loved these lamps outside the Royal and the curve of Grey Street is one of my favourite views in the city centre. All was illuminated in this wonderful blue glow from the light effects, ready for the big finale.
@pwallis Thanks :-) And how did you guess?! The blue was already very gorgeous, but I couldn't resist how it gave the buildings this lovely enhanced tone ;-)
@claireuk@juliehill@mstipe Thanks so much for the faves, ladies! I was really pleased with this. Grey Street and those lamps are not easy to capture, too much road signs and stuff around that distract at other times!
That's the best perspective I have seen so far from the birthday bash and the most technically correct composition, its excellent . The muted sky is lovely too, I will miss the winter skies when they are gone. I'm done for the day but I will no doubt be back tomorrow.!
I love the way Grey Street curces round. Great shot everything just comes together the colour, the lanterns, the curve.....fav :)
You've opened up a little channel to the north-east for me - thank you!
@flagged@jennwearing@shanne Thank you so much for your comments and faves, ladies! Really appreciate all the time you take to view my shots and comment!
@justeddie Thanks so much, Eddie! I still cannot believe I never spotted this perspective before, but then I did spend two nights just wandering about in a small space! I know what you mean about the winter skies but I am looking forward to some more time after work again to capture some daylight!!
(note to self: go and find out what 'cross processing' is......!)
