There is an old rich tradition in the region of Franconia to build nativity scenes. In the weeks of Advent and over the Christmas period you can often get a little map with a trail of places to visit in towns and villages. These include nativities in churches, public places, museums and in people's own homes.
We went for our own little nativity trail Sunday afternoon while visiting good friends for coffee - I only captured 3 of their 5 nativities here! My parents had left the decorations up for me to enjoy. The two pictures on the right are from our nativity at home.
