This time last year my mother had surgery for repair of an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Without it she almost certainly would have died before Christmas 2013.. and yet there was a high possibility she would not survive the surgery.
Hard choice to make when giving informed consent.
She had and survived the surgery and is relatively ok health wise.
The day of surgery i went in before 7am to the hospital to accompany her up to theatre. The rest of the day until mid afternoon when we were allowed to visit her in the High Dependancy Unit.. i spent wandering around the Parnell Rose gardens, taking photos and gazing mindlessly at magazines in local cafes to make the time move along. It was a long day.
This is one photo i took that day.
Glad to hear you mother is doing well, it indeed was a hard choice but a right one considering the options. Best wishes to her! beautiful, evocative processing!
thank you very much for your words of caring and support. I guess even though we know our parents are ageing - it doesn't take away feelings of potential loss. We are ok for now and i feel grateful.
Also thank you for enjoying this photo and the fav's.
