Yes Iets light the candles

Our tradition is to light the candles on Christmas Eve but since we had dinner guests today and of course they saw our tree with the real candles we were asked if we could light them as they had never seen real candles on a tree. we gladly made the exception and together enjoyed the warm and beautiful candle light while celebrating the 3rd of Advent.
What a beautiful old-fashioned glow.

Hi there, just to say hello, and thank you so much for being so nice keeping touch with me. I am just having the best of times here, my mother is so happy and probably I am going back to USA over weight because she doesn't stop making good food every day.
One more time thanks, you are sweet!

That's such a nice thing to have done and Christmas is a time for sharing. I too have candles on my tree and have lit them for different reasons sometimes. One year my beloved cat was so ill I forgot to but any more candles and found I only had one, so we lit in her memory when her mothers owner came round and then there were tears and laughter all round.

It certainly have been a warmly good dinner with friends with that beautiful Christmas tree and real candle lights.
Our custom is that we take our Christmas tree in 24th December inside and decorate it in the morning and we will keep it until Epiphany.
Nice week to you Bruni!

So beautiful - I've never had real candles on a christmas tree. The mood must be completely differnt to just having electric christmas lights.

@pyrrhula It's good to get together with family. we are celebrating Christmas Eve with my son, wife and our 3 grandchildren then on Christmas Day we have dinner at our home and my daughter and her fiance will be joining us with my husband's daughter and our grandchild. so we celebrate two times with family.

@mole a very touching comment. so do you still have the old fashioned candles this year? do you celebrate Advent?..tomorrow is the 3rd Advent. thank you so much for your comment and have a nice week the last before one before Christmas.

@lehy I figured your tradition would be the same as what we had back home in Germany. my dad would bring in the three on Christmas Eve and decorate it of course with real candles, the presents would be under the tree and then after our evening meal we would all congregate around the tree. thank you so much for your comment. have a great 3rd Advent.
