Nice shot, Bruni! But I don't think these are Grackles... Grackles have different colors on their feathers and no spots, unless these are a different type of Grackle and in that case, I apologize for confusion. I know Common Grackles don't look like these. Great action shot. I can't get action shots because they come out too blurry. I don't know how to use my camera properly. I don't have anyone to show me either. The manual does no good. If I don't get a still shot of a bird, it goes into the recycling bin. Well done on this shot. :)

Actually I think these are Starlings. Grackles are a shiny black/dark blue/sometimes brownish-purple with a long tail, close to the size of a Robin but slender. Great wing motion there.

I like to thank all of you for your comment on my grackle picture which I now changed to read Starlings. Bev @prrtblues and Ann @olivetreeann both ladies mentioned that it was a starling and not a grackle. thank you both, it looks like I always mix them up.

@bruni No problem Bruni- it's easy to confuse them as they are both pests and drive away the songbirds!

love the wing action in this shot.

Ah ha! A female grackle. I used to see so many of them around here and they seem to be slowly disappearing. Same with crows. This is really a fun action shot.
