Ok, so it is not actually Garnet (or wine Fanny) but it is a red.
Every year I try any buy Mrs Bulldog the anniversary stone for that year, this was a few years ago and the stone is Red Spinel.

They come in various shades of red to brown and can be quite expensive. The background is actually a free glasses cleaning cloth that I got with my glasses.
