So, it was early when I left High Wycombe and as I have just moved job to Hemel Hempstead, I was sure there would be a Public Attraction there. Well there is, it's a Ski Slope.. That's it....
After a great deal of research, I finally found the other other attraction to Hemel, Frogmore Mill.
Frogmore Mill has a long history, with a water mill first recorded on the site in the thirteenth century. As one of the mills in the Bulbourne and Gade valleys, Frogmore is bound up with the history of both the canal and paper-making.
Frogmore Mill, once called Covent Mill, was in use for paper-making in 1774 when Edward Holmes was the occupier. He leased it from Thomas Tower for £100 per annum and he was allowed to remove the flour milling equipment to make way for hand paper-making. The Fourdrinier brothers took over the nearby Two Waters Mill in 1792, when it was described as "a house, water corn mill and paper mill".
It's to a crap shot Bulldog...but I do love that teaching :-) interesting history lesson and I like the way the sun is peeking through on the pavement.
@natr :( @caddick - Thanks for backing me up :) @rosiekind - Yeah, sorry about that - I was a little uninspired today :| @streetlyend - It was OK at 8:47 this morning :) @seanoneill - You mentioned it on your post yesterday Sean :) @natr - Yeah yeah :) @purplehaze12 - I think it would look better, if I had left the lens cap on :)
@gphelps5 Well you do spend a lot of energy on providing us with such entertaining pics that you deserve a day off from such creativity. We do appreciate your pics so don't let today's comments put you off!
So that's the secret--I need to do more writing for my crappy shots, eh ; )
BTW, I don't think you're shot is at all crappy. I agree with Hazel--would be quite a different shot if the tree had blossoms.
You should make this into one of those series of the same place at different times just to irritate all those who were sniffy ... LOL anyway, 'interesting facts' apart, I loved the boats and they have damned good reflections!
Thanks Sean

@rosiekind - Hey, don't worry, life is too short to not enjoy everything you do.
@seanoneill - ha ha ha.
