Yet again, a massive thank you to everyone who took part in our Planned-4-Jan challenge and to all of you who suggested words to Feature-4-Feb. In total we had 595 words nominated and this is how I have compiled our list:
- Firstly I added the words that were nominated for specific dates (for example 2nd for Groundhog Day and the 2nd for Groundhog Day).
- I then put some similar words together like ‘Stone & Rock’ and ‘Underneath/Upside down’.
- I then counted up the number of times that the words were nominated and attaching those to the matching date (for example “Rust” was nominated 8 times so is on the 8th)
- Where there were two or more with the same count, I added these randomly in to the next available date.
- The final six are “Bonus Words” that can be used at any time to replace any day where you don’t feel you can’t use the word of the day. I have added ‘Marriage /Anniversary’ to the bonus list as not everyone would be able to do that.
Some words that I have not included as they were used in Jan: Water [9] - Macro/Miniature [6] - Selfie [4] - Motion/Moving [5] (although you could do this on the 6th?). Sorry if you suggested these and did not do Plan-4-Jan.
Please note that the dates are just recommendations and you do not have to stick to them, you can use any of the 34 words in any order you like, if you wish to.

So here is our list for the February Words (why they were chosen [number of times suggested]):
1st - Red/Heart (Wear Red Day for heart disease - 1st Feb US/26th Feb UK [28])
2nd - Groundhog/Shadow ( Groundhog Day [18])
3rd - Aquarius/Pisces (Zodiac signs for the month [6])
4th - Outside/Inside (Think outside or inside the box [6])
5th - Chocolate ( World Nutella Day [6])
6th - Bicycle/Transportation (This could also be motion or moving [4])
7th - Underneath / Upside down (Things you don't normally look at - Suggested [9])
8th - Rust (That's it, just rust [8])
9th - Book/Books (Read in the Bathtub Day & Library Lovers Month [7])
10th - Snake (Chinese new year [7])
11th - Lightbulb/Birthday (Thomas Edison's Birthday - Edison [4] & Birthday [5])
12th - Pancake/Mardi Gras (Pancake Day and Mardi Gras [17])
13th - Ash/Ashes (Ash Wednesday (Lent) [4])
14th - Love/Passion (Valentine’s Day [26])
15th - Reflection/Mirror (Insert comment here [15])
16th - Stone/Rock (This could also be Statue [4])
17th - Time/12:34 (Shoot a pic from your location at 12:34 [5])
18th - White on white (Something white on white [8])
19th - Light and Dark (Yes, both [5])
20th - Amethyst / Purple (Birthstone [20])
21st - Knot (A Rope or String knot [6])
22nd - Pink (Simply Pink [5])
23rd - Mud/Earth (Mud Month [5])
24th - Antique (Something Old [4])
25th - Beatles (George Harrison's Birthday) [3]
26th - Flower (Your floral tribute [4])
27th - Bear/Bare (International Polar Bear day [10])
28th – Unique/28 (Since Feb. only has 28 days [3])
Bonus Words:
Marriage /Anniversary [5]
Bird feeder (National Bird Feeding Month) [3]
Smile [3]
Breakfast [3]
Communication [3]
Cool/Heat [4]

Had toyed with the idea of doing an alphabet month and forcing myself to use my new camera as I'm still a bit scared of it and have hardly picked it up a month later. These look great though... very tempted.
Thanks for the list for Feb. I really enjoyed January’s list - it made me consider shots I would never have taken otherwise! Sorry I din’t get round to suggesting any - had deadlines to meet!

Thank you so much Bulldog, once again. Im pleased to say I have (so far) managed every challenge this month, one way or another. Even on the worst days for lighting, like today, I am inspired to go find something that will meet the day's word. Keeps the little grey cells ticking over nicely :-) @gphelps5

Great list Bulldog! hmmm..i might give it a try..i just love your lists!! but i did have another goal already in place...i might have to change my mind..again!! lol!
I did not bring a camera to work today and on my break I passed this bicycle memorial I had never seen before, I am planning to go back and take the pic tomorrow. It will be a day late, hope that is ok!
@gphelps5 not sure if it was intentional but it's cool you put "snake" for the 10th. It's Chinese New Year Day and it will be the year of the snake. Great timing!
I know I'm being daft but how do I find the monthly words easily. It has taken an age to find this page. I searched under daily word and all other sorts of descriptions but no joy. Eventually I came up with this page but not sure how I eventually got here!. Is there any way I can tag it to my profile. Please please Can you help me ;-( Apologies in advance for being a dodo!!
The way I find it is to look at one of the photos that has the tag, click on the tag, go to the first page of photos and look for the list.
If you click that photo you will have the list and under the photo you will find a link the here. Then bookmark this page.
