So today I borrowed one of my sons cameras as it has a time lapse setting.
I filled the bird table up with two slices of bread and set the camera to start taking shots at 12:33 and take one every 10 seconds.
I then retired in-doors, to watch nothing happen.
Second attempt: I set this up to take a shot every 20 seconds, while we went to walk the dogs. When we got home, the bread was gone and it took just seven minutes for this big old bird to finish the whole lot.

Thank you all for your kind comments, I am going to try this again, once I have brought some more 'small bird' food. Does anyone know what pigeons don't like?
What kind of bird were you intending to feed was my first thought then I watched the pics on your link and I'm think this poor pigeon fell of the feeder tray . being so heavy after all the bread. I'm convinced it must have been this way since there was no shot of him flying away. Did you check the ground?
If the pigeon actually sat there and ate all the bread he was a wiser bird than the ones we have around here. Pigeons here pick the bread up and throw it over their shoulder so it would have all ended up on the ground!!!!
