This weekend I was invited to go camping with my friends' Cub Scouts group to the Yucaipa Regional Park here in California. I had never been to Yucaipa nor this park but found it to be quite lovely. We camped, hiked, swam, rode water slides, roasted marshmallows, played Twister (well the kids did) and other such fun activities.
I recently ran into an issue with the zipper on my "old" 2 man tent and tossed out an SOS to my friends on Facebook. Within a couple of hours, someone had dropped off a 4 man tent on my front stoop. Here you can see my extra large tent in all of its glory - plenty of space for one girl to stretch out and I can almost stand up completely straight in the center of the tent too!
I cannot tell you how excited, happy and blessed I was to receive such a fine gift from my friend Rich ~ I hope to get many years of enjoyment out of this wonderful new shelter.
Hey, you really got a nice looking tent there. You should enjoy that for many years to come.
We had a "6 person" tent we used to use for the three or two of us depending upon who went. Was great for us until a squirrel dropped a pine cone through it. Damn pine cone went through with such force that it ripped a 6 inch gash in the side of the tent and broke clear through the flooring.
@ Paul - Wow - now that's one heavy pine cone! Yes, thanks to RShetley, I should be good for a long time now. :-) I love the "doggy door" at one end and what I call the "privacy entrance" that zips closed is groovy too. I was plenty warm both nights while everyone else froze on our camping trip. :-) I'm a SUPER lucky girl indeed!
