St Patricks Day, Queen St, Auckland by chikadnz

St Patricks Day, Queen St, Auckland

We travelled up to Auckland this morning and spent most of the day at the motorhome show. Dreaming - but one day soon we plan for our dreams to become reality.
I photographed from the car en route, then challenged myself to get some creative photos and candid people shots at the show, with limited success, but it kept things interesting!
After dinner we went out to do some street photography in the central city. There were a lot of people out celebrating, and even the ANZ bank and Sky Tower were green in honour of the Irish national day.
We were a bit taken aback by the car parking charges, but that's another story...!
A nice image and I enjoyed wandering around town with you. However, I didn't enjoy having a flat camera battery and a flat spare one as well.

This is great. City carpark prices make your eyes water!

@nzkites I didn't enjoy that (flat batteries) either. Then I almost did the same thing when we were out together the week after! :-(
@dide We paid $18 for about 90min. We had already paid before we discovered John's battery situation, so he insisted I keep going. We did our best to keep calm and enjoy the walk around. If not for the flat batteries we may have stayed on the street longer (no extra parking charge) but were both tired after a long day. Hope to have other opportunities to photograph in the city in future, but maybe will look for a cheaper parking option?!
@thistle Thanks! This is another area of photography I'd like to do more of.
@dkbarnett Small world! Which building is your apartment in?
@365street Thanks, glad you liked it.

@chikadnz It is the building tucked behind and to the right of the ANZ building (with the green light) on the corner. It is called Quay West.
