Autumn at the Cemetery by chikadnz

Autumn at the Cemetery

Dad passed away last January, and today would have been his 94th birthday. Mum and I visited the cemetery late this afternoon. Not far from his grave there is a plane tree, now showing it's autumn colours. Some of the leaves have already dropped. There is a memorial seat under the tree (on the left just out of view) and a collection of mobiles and wind chimes hanging in the branches above.

Mum can be seen off in the distance, having gone for a walk to put back some flowers and a balloon that had been blown away from their owners' gravestones in the recent stormy weather.

Here ends my third month of daily photos on 365. Not quite at 100 yet but not far away...
That is a beautiful cemetery, but are the graves not marked?

Looks a lovely place for your dad to rest, plenty of space there for more gravestones.

@octogenarian Yes they are marked, I just didn't show them in this photo. There are a line of gravestones in the background. The ones on the right of the photo (under the dark trees) are mostly smaller plaques. Dad's was behind and on my right from where I took this shot.
@happypat Yes there is, they are several new plots being developed close by so it's gradually becoming more 'built up'.
