The cicadas have arrived! I found this empty shell today. I also saw a few flying, but I didn't get a chance to get a pic. I actually took pics of this one early this morning, but the ones I took late this afternoon were much better.
I researched the cicada and I found one bit of trivia that I found a little disturbing. Cicadas are benign to humans. They don't bite or sting .If they mistake your arm or other body parts for a tree or plant, they might try to feed . This could be painful! YIKES!!!
I had a wonderful Mother's Day! I had lunch with my mom, the girls, and the grandchildren. :0)
Awesome find Carolyn - It's incredible that they can wriggle out leaving the skin so in tact. What a disturbing and interesting fact about these noisy little critters. We don't get cicadas regularly down here. I think they prefer warmer climates (well don't we all!) LOL
