I was too tired last night to put a more detailed description. After being sick for most of Jeff's vacation, I finally felt good enough for us to go somewhere. We decided on the Greenway. It's only 25 miles from home and I always find fun things to shoot.
This is a muskrat. It was my first time to see one. We saw a total of about six. There was a Mother and her baby that were really fun to watch. Muskrats are really good swimmers and their tail is almost as long as their bodies and hairless.
We saw turtles, ducks, dragonflies, turkey vultures, and fish. We were almost ready to come home, when Jeff decided to explore closer to the water. I was standing up high on a small observation point. I heard him yell a rude exclamation. I looked down and he had his arms raised and his eyes were big! The next thing I saw was a water snake swimming in his direction! I was yelling for him to run, but he wouldn't budge. The snake took a turn and swam away. We probably scared it!!! LOL! Jeff told me he thought it was best to stay put until it was gone. I'm really glad I didn't go down there! I didn't get a good look at it, but I think it was non-venomous. The books always say you can tell by the eye shape. I don't ever plan to get close enough to do that!
Thank you so much for your concerns over my kidney stone. It was rough week, but it seems the demon stone is gone. Good riddance!
Thank you for your views, comments, and faves on my recent pics! :0)
I've never seen a muskrat. There was a song... Muskrat Ramble, I believe? Fabulous catch .... he's pretty cute! So happy to hear you're feeling better.
What a cool shot. I have never seen a muskrat. Very cool. So glad you are feeling better. LOL at not getting close enough to the snake to see the eye shape--I WOULDN'T EITHER ; )
Those are in our country a plague and hunted. They dig holes in our
dykes . So the land can be flooded. Never less , you have made a lovely pic of Her/him.
I`m glad to know you`ve recover. Stay well.
