Kestrel in flight

This is an American Kestrel. I did get a couple of closer shots. I chose this one, because he was on the far side of my neighbor's hay field. I kept him in focus as he flew around the field. I truly love my 300mm.

I hope to see him again. They are beautiful birds. I've never gotten a good close up. It's on my bucket list.

This is the kind of bird that builds a nest on our elementary school's basketball goal each year. A rather interesting choice of home, but they keep doing it.
