I continue my street photos of Zanzibar taken the first day we’ve arrived.
We were supposed to stay in Zanzibar 8 days so our flight to return to Switzerland was scheduled on the 1st of January BUT I’ve been tested positive to Covid at the airport before the check in ( I had the 3 injections of Moderna and had done a negative PCR test before leaving Switzerland) , so needless to say it was a chock 1 hour before entering the plane.
We spent our week there with our masks on all the time, washing our hands all the time and avoid any contact with other people … but this omicron is a pest !
The good thing is that I’ve symptoms of a very light cold, I though that’s what I had due to the air conditioner no more, I didn’t imagine it was Covid !
The bad thing is that we had to take a urgent decision in half an hour : we’ve decided that my daughters will go back to Switzerland and my husband will stay with me in case of complications.
So I’m going to have another pcr test tomorrow to see if I’m still positive and think to book another flight to go back home.
No offense but Tanzania wasn’t the country of my dreams to contract Covid so I hope I will continue to have light symptoms … and will be back home very soon .
On a positive aspect : I’ve time to look at all my photos taken there and clean them a bit !
Oh no, what bad luck. I hope you’ve been able to find some decent accommodation while you wait. Hope you’re not too ill with it. On the plus side (for us) we are getting to see some great shots of Tanzania. Get well soon!
@ljmanning thank you Laura, I’m in good health so it is ok … just waiting for a negative test to be “no contagious “ for others and take my flight back ;)

J'espere que ton test sera négatif demain (ces tests ne sont pas tres fiables). Tous mes voeux pour une rentrée en Suisse la plus rapide possible.

On croise les doigts pour le prochain test … en espérant que mon mari ne l’aura pas attrapé entre temps non plus …
Fingers crossed for a negative test soon and that symptoms remain mild! Definitely has altered many families' plans this past few weeks. Love the colour in this photo!
What a gorgeous photo. So sorry to hear your news, that must have been a shock. Yes agreed this omicron is a sneaky little bugger. Haven't had yet, but can only be a matter of time.
Wow - thats quite the story Corine - unfortunately its the story of many people- many injections of so-called vaccine - endless boosters and they still get Covid - I don't think it really works :(
