Well you have cropped this to reveal these letters and have created a questioning graphic image. I think I might have taken a slither off the left hand side as I can just see a bit of more letters. When I read this first I thought I was reading OUR ER, and thought it might have reference to our passing Queen. Sometimes when letters are changed or mixed up in a word we can still read the meaning, so although the first world reads as OUS at quick glance could be understood as the word 'our'. It would be interesting to find out if that was your intention?
@marshwader I am familiar with the phenomenon of letter rearrangement not necessarily impeding word recognition, but that was not relevant here. This sign is not unique; it can be seen in numerous locations, with the very distinctive typography. But do most people notice it?
@colinwalls I certainly don’t recognise it. I tried a Google image search, but couldn’t find anything similar. So, well done: definitely an original image (again).
