I just want to know what this is? I wonder if they (whatever 'they' is) have been cut out intentionally or is it plaster that has been removed from a wall?

@marshwader It is residual adhesive which was left behind when a sign of some kind was removed.

@colinwalls yes I can see the shapes now. Did you collect them up and arrange them like that?

@marshwader No. They are about 8 feet up a vertical wall.
