One of my favorite places to take sunset pictures is Colonial Lake in the historic district of Charleston near the Ashley River. This newly renovated park now has thousands of new shrubs, flowers and trees and is a true feast for the eyes. It was closed and there was no access to the perimeter walk around the lake for more than a year, but last night for the first time the entire park was open to visitors and everyone seemed to be
out there walking their dogs, chatting and sitting on benches looking out over the small but very scenic lake. The water is tidally influenced, but the levels are much more stable now that the renovation work has been completed. For decades I have sat out by the lake, and have posted photos of sunsets here at 365 since I started several years ago.
