The Tide Is High by daffodill

The Tide Is High

Today we arrived in Norfolk for 2 weeks.
Usually we join the traffic Jams heading down the M5/A30,
but the indifferent weather over the last few years sent us eastwards
in search of sunshine.
Just one problem.
Stopping places with toilets and coffee and spaces for cars with caravans just don't exist! :(
Apart from a brief stop in a lay by we had to do the journey in one go :(
This does make the M5, with regular services, very appealing!
Having arrived at our campsite in West Runton, we headed into Cromer in search of Fish & Chips.
Tea was magical.
Sat in the outdoor seating area on the pier,
with the waves pounding below,
and breaking against the sea wall around 30 feet away,
and seeing the spray cascading into the air,
was amazing.
Afterwards we diverted to Sheringham to watch the sunset, as we did many evenings,
but this picture will always remind me of the sound of the sea at high tide
and siting on the pier on a gloriously warm evening,
with sea below us, beside us and almost ahead of us :)
Perfect.
I like the bottom right corner :-)
