Busy day today! This very Christmassy shot was taken at church after evening service, with the service candle in front of the flowers. As I got to lead & speak, it seems a fitting day to remember a day when so much of may day was focusing on God. The passage was Psalm 95 - The Venite.
The service began with The Invocation spoken at President Obamas visit to Cannon Falls, which was written & spoken by the wife of the Vicar of my church when I was a teenager, and tied in well with the importance of us listening to God as a nation today.
Beautiful shot and Christmassy as you say - not long now ;0) How marvellous that you know thw writer of The Invocation - and there is something satisfying that it was written by the vicar's wife and not the vicar - glad she had a voice. (By the way my cat has just damage the 'v' key on my keyboard and I thought 'oh well - I don't use 'v' very often - except in this post!! I have to lean on it hard!)
@judithg The writer of the Invocation is now a Minister in a church in Cannon Falls. Apologies I probably didn't make that clear! Also discovered through this event that we have friends in common - the world is a lot smaller than we think!
