Today we awoke to a wet & wild world.
After spending the morning avoiding sorting paperwork,
we decided to go to IKEA, as I had seen an item of furniture I fancied
(but don't tell anyone, they my not approve, and they may think that there are too many items in the house already!)
Despite her initial protestations, Abi really enjoys looking at all the display rooms, and inspects them all, thoroughly, right down to the display shower & shampoo bottles, which she later found on sale in the market place (and I didn't buy!)
Having toured the upstairs we had a cup of coffee.
Why do IKEA do such bad coffee?
I would happily pay more for a decent cup!
I wasn't tempted by the cakes either. :(
Having a table by the window meant i could get some interesting carpark/reflections of the cafe shots...Sorry if you don't think car parks are interesting. I like the way the outside & inside worlds appear to merge. The bright lights in the distance around halfway up the photo are the optimistic souls, pouring off junction 9 of the M6 in search of bargains....the red tail lights adjacent are the weary shoppers, from IKEA, Next, B & Q etc., on their way home.
Why is it we only go to IKEA in December?
On the way out, temptation was lurking in the form of candles. My daughter also acquired some mirrors for her room. Scarily I predicted what we had spent to within 20p.....
