Today we headed of to the south western corner of Worcestershire, stopping at Hanley Swan to take pictures of the very picturesque village pond. Unfortunately it is on the junction of a couple of roads, so this beautiful spot has the constant noise of traffic. We wandered up to the village church, admiring it's golden carpets and spotting the 'Denny Window' straight away.
We moved on to Upton-Upon-Severn, which is having major work done on it's bridge. We parked in the free car park opposite the new church, we were surprised to discover that the church was open. I was tempted by the second hand books, but didn't buy any as there was nothing tempting enough to merit being carried around.
The church is dominated by a piece of modern art , as seen here http://365project.org/rvm/365/2012-01-13, which you either love or hate!
We wondered down the main street to the river. I took this looking westward along the river. I loved the colours, they reminded me of those 'Old Master ' style christmas cards & one almost expects to see horses & hounds tearing across the water!!! I tried cropping in, but the colour lost its intensity. The Malvern Hills are visible on the left edge, looking a delightful smokey blue. The town seemed to be very much geared up for local shoppers, and we failed to find anywhere we fancied for lunch, so we ended up at the legendary Mrs Muffins in Ledbury, http://www.mrsmuffins.co.uk/Ledbury/Home.html
We headed back through the stunning Wyche cutting in the Malverns and home. A beautiful day :)
